These terms cover your use of eSign, operated by eSignDocs. They are separate from each agreement you are asked to sign. Read that agreement and any sender instructions carefully.
Using the service
Use eSign only for documents you are entitled to access, prepare or sign. Give accurate details, sign in your own capacity or with the necessary authority for an organisation, and keep account credentials, invitation links and access codes private. Do not impersonate another person, misuse someone else’s signature, upload unlawful material or try to bypass access controls.
Your signing decision
Opening an invitation, creating an account or saving a signature does not sign an agreement. You choose a signature appearance, complete the assigned fields and give the required final confirmation. The Next button moves between fields; you remain responsible for reviewing every page, including pages without fields, before declaring that you have read the document.
If you disagree, do not understand a term, lack signing authority or need legal advice, stop and contact the sender before signing. An independent-advice acknowledgement, where requested, does not remove rights that cannot lawfully be waived. We do not provide legal advice through this service.
Suitability and formalities
Electronic signing may create binding obligations. Whether a particular document is valid depends on its content, the parties’ intention, applicable law and any required formalities. eSign does not supply a witnessing, notarisation, certified identity or qualified electronic-signature service. The sender must choose a suitable process for documents requiring additional formalities.
Accounts and saved signatures
A signer account is optional. Use your own email address and a strong password. A saved signature is a reusable appearance; each agreement still needs your approval. Account access is limited to your own uploads, agreements associated with your verified email and eligible SMS agreements you explicitly link. Contact us if information appears in the wrong account.
Documents, copies and records
After all required signers complete a request, authorised parties can download the completed PDF and its signing record. Keep a copy where you can access it. When a previously signed PDF is used to create a separate signing copy, existing certificates protect the preserved original only. The completed eSign copy has its own record and workspace seal. See Signing information.
A completed document is not silently edited to correct a mistake. Contact the sender about a replacement agreement or an explanatory record. Test documents are clearly marked and are not intended to create live agreements.
Availability and security
Access may be interrupted for maintenance, faults or proportionate security measures. Do not rely on the service as your only copy of an important agreement. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. We may restrict access reasonably where necessary to protect people, documents or the service; contact us if you need an accessible copy or to challenge a restriction.
Responsibility and your rights
Each sender is responsible for the agreements and instructions they supply. These service terms do not decide a dispute under a signed agreement or alter its terms. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence, or removes applicable statutory rights.
Privacy and contact
Our Privacy policy explains personal information, identity uploads, local comparison and backups. Our Cookie policy explains essential storage. For service questions, complaints or account closure, email admin@esigndocs.co.uk or use Help & contact.
Changes
We may update these terms for future use of the service. The date on this page identifies the current version. An update does not retrospectively change a document you have already signed.
